Some watch-makers try their best to think out of the box and create
something really unique, something that most people had never seen
before.
We gathered for you some of these wonderful timepieces.
Talus - Abouttime

Extremely
nerve-economizing watch. Doctors say that most of sicknesses today
occur because people constantly rush somewhere. This watch is for those
who don't. Also, it is more natural a way to percept time. The
difficulty is to tell the exact time to others when they ask for that,
as people tend to think it's a joke of yours.
Linux-powered wristwatch

One
more step to coffee-machine checking its own e-mail and moving messages
from its owner to spam folder. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome a
wristwatch with its own open-source operating system. Like with any
really bizarre thing, the first question jumping into anyone's mind is
Why? However, such question arises any time something rally new
appears: the first cell-phone with a camera for example, not to say a
word about first car or airplane.
Morse code wristwatch
This watch can beep out the time with Morse code and show it with its
LEDs. Just hope, the signal will never be like three short beeps, then
three long beeps and three short beeps again. However, even in this
case you would know the time and that it is extremely limited.
InfinityOptics - Ultra-violet watch
The only drawback of this masterpiece is too much time its owner would
spend looking at the watch itself, as it is inevitably mesmerizing.
However, such meditation will not last long, as the sight problems will
start much faster. So, be really careful when choosing a bizarre watch
for yourself!
See-Touch watch
One can really feel the time with this watch, as it is for blind
people. Upper square is for hours, lower one is for minutes. This
masterpiece of watch-making craft is ingenious in its both simplicity
and usability. Moreover, taking into account its primary customers, it
really makes this world a little bit better.
TokyoFlash - Mugen (Infinity)
This Japanese watchmaker never ceases to amaze everyone. These guys
constantly invent new ways of representing time and it seems like some
day they will succeed in persuading us that three hands or four digits
with colon between are indeed too boring for this purpose. This time
they think the spiral comes well for hours and dashes are really good
for minutes.
Patek Philippe - Cobra
This watch was so bizarre that alas - it has never been mass-produced
and existed only as concept design. Check out this graphic user
interface of its and get totally astonished: this watch is completely
mechanical, nothing (!) digital inside. By the way, these guys at Patek
Philippe really thought ahead in terms of design: one should not shake
his wrist any time one wants to see the time, as the face is skewed for
better visibility.
Vacheron Constantin - Mercator
Checking time on this watch requires certain mental input, though,
unlike TokyoFlash inventions, this at least has face and hands. The
latter are moving in the opposite directions, but taking into account
the price, watch owner should manage this easily.
Otium [du:z]
Small balls "fall" center wise thus marking the hours. Little hand
shows minutes. Seconds are not shown. I think, for seconds the Otium
designers would think of atomic explosions or volcano eruptions, but
Otium sales and marketing people would stop them from actual
implementation as they could find a very limited number of customers in
the known Universe.
Patrick Dugan - Migraine
This watch is extremely informative, as at the same very time its owner
would know day of week, minutes and seconds, day of month, the hour out
of 24, month and week of the year. In fact, a very practical and useful
devise. The only problem is that a customer would have a constant
migraine in his/her head in addition to the one on his/her wrist. Many
believe that the only, but powerful, advocate of non-production of this
watch is World Health Organization.
